FC Barcelona: Ex-player Maxi Rolon dies in car accident

Former Argentine junior national player Maxi Rolon died in a car accident.

His ex-club FC Barcelona confirmed the tragic misfortune on Saturday. "We are shaken by the death of Maxi Rolons (born in 1995), who played in the youth of FC Barcelona from 2010 to 2016," wrote the Blaugrana on Twitter.

According to the Argentine police, Rolon and his brother Ariel were traveling near Casilda in the province of Santa Fe when his car came off the street and crashed into a tree. Both brothers died of the injuries they suffered.

The Rolon brothers currently took part in the regional league Casildense, all the games of the competition on Sunday were canceled after the accident.

Maxi Rolon dies in car accident

Rolon, former U20 international, was once considered a great talent. He played 24 times for the second team of FC Barcelona. Then he laced his shoes for the Brazilian top club FC Santos and clubs in Ecuador, Chile, Iraq and Argentina.
